After years of experience trying to customize off the shelf shopping cart solutions for various clients, we learned that most of our grief came from software which did not provide the web designer enough flexibility to customize the look and feel of the cart.
In 123 eCart, we resolved that our software would be different. We vowed that we would be the Burger King of shopping carts, and allow you to do it "your way". This meant that we had to provide a sizable array of design tools and methods.
At the same time, we wanted 123 eCart to be a turnkey solution
which even a novice could easily customize, and we feared that the flexibility
we had built into 123 eCart would introduce too much complexity for the novice
users, and overwhelm them.
The solution we found was to use a wizard to guide the user, initially, through setting up the software to provide only the design tools you will use, according to your own preferences and methodology, and hide the tools you don't want to use.
The first time that you go to the Look and Feel page, you will be taken to the Look and Feel Wizard. Thereafter,
you will go
directly to the Look & Feel page, where you will be able to modify all aspects of
the store's appearance.
When you initially set up your look and feel through the wizard, you will be asked whether you want to use a pre-designed template, or provide your own header/footer code. If you choose to use templates, you will then be asked to select a template.
Regardless of which template you select, you may modify all of
the style elements, colors, fonts, and graphics for that template at ant time.
The appearance of your storefront is determined primarily by the style sheet.
We offer you two different ways to edit your style sheet.
The ezStyle Editor is recommended for novice users, and will allow you to select colors and fonts for any specific style element.
the Advanced Style Sheet Editor is recommended only if
you have experience with CSS and gives you direct access to the style sheet for
your store.
If you elect to use the Header/Footer method, you may put the
HTML for the header and the footer directly into the Header/Footer Editor.
Any of the buttons used by the cart may be replaced by uploading your own buttons. Button images MUST be in jpeg or gif format before being uploaded.
